Alright, I am hopefully be purchasing a TRD rear end next weekend. Got some questions about the swap.

I have a 99 regular cab 5speed with 4.10's, the axle is outta of a 01 TRD V6 5speed. This is also 4.10's I believe am I correct?

Also will the drive shaft be correct? going from a extra cab 8" diff to a regular cab 8.4" diff? It has the yoke still if it helps...

All the brakes are still on the axle, so the only thing needed to be done is disconnect flex line reconnect and bleed. I seen some things on here about the E-brake cable though. Mine goes up over the leaf spring so will the 01 be the same?

As for wiring the E-locker in. It has the wires up to the first plug from the locker. I know I will need more...just dont know what is missing? Any Toyota Factory parts or just things from the local parts store?

I used the search function...but seems like its a different story depending on what year the axle is. Also didnt see anything about regular cabs.

Ford has released it. Supposed to have a 6.2 liter engine option. Havent really heard any other specs on it. Anybody know of performance results of any kind??

I have an 01 with ADD and push button tcase. Swapped the hubs out with manual hubs and the differential at the same time. Original diff had the electronic ADD actuator. There is a 6 pin electrical connector that went to it. I assume that it has to sense the diff engage before the 4wd light comes on. How do i fool it now to get the light to come on?

Also my manual hubs need a rubber gasket on the hub handle (the part that you turn). My local dealer said they do not carry this part. I am thinking of finding an o-ring that matches. Anyone else replace this before?

Front seal on my W56 giving up the ghost. Truck just turned 25 years old this month. Seal did good for 245K miles. Looking at pulling the trans the weekend after Thanksgiving (Dec5-6). Ordered all parts today.
Anyone have a trans jack I can borrow? Has anyone rented one? if so, from where? How much?
Don't want to spend the $80 at HF for one.

Recently installed a powertrax lock right in my 1987 22r 4wd pickup and did as precise job as the directions would allow. I made sure to mark everthing like it says and count turns on bearing adjusters. Got it all back together and checked the backlash felt great nearly exact to what it was before i tore it apart. Also the thrust washers seemed to be in great shape and showed no signs of scarring or wear. Now for my problem I reinstalled and now there quite a bit of slack in the drive line. the driveshaft can turn nearly a 1/4 turn before catching in the rear end thus causing when i drive it to windup between shift causing a big clunk and no matter how smooth you attempt to shift it still clunks? Now is this common with locker, should i tear it back down to check everything just trying to save myself some work.

Well, my 4Runner isn't really having any problems engine wise (unless it had it when i bought it and i'm just ignorant to the issue), but the previous owner paid a shop to replace the head gaskets but i was wondering if it would be worth it to take it to the toyota dealer and have them do it again?

It would be free covered by the recall.

edit: now googling it, i'm not finding the recall on my 4Runner.. maybe i jumped the gun posting this after only searching the forum. lol

Well, starting to get input and plan a party again this year. Molly and I are probably leaning towards December 5 (first saturday) and looking at Monroe's Lounge in Loveland again, since it has space, and Nate always treats us well. May be able to get some room deals, work on him some for some drink specials just for us more than likely. Leaning more towards get your own food if you want to eat sort of thing for those on a budget, or those that want to eat else where before the party. Or I'm discussing one possibility with Molly and Nate to keep things cheap for those on a budget and still have a little food.
